AAIN is registered in Accra, Ghana as a private sector entity & internationally recognized as a Business Development Company.

Affiliations to date: 158 Universities, 30 Private Sector Forums, 4 Sub Regional Research Organizations and 3 International Research organizations. It is one of the technical arms of the African Union Commission (AUC) on Agribusiness Incubation, and a business development partner to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the Pan African Farmers Organisation (PAFO), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA), The African Development Bank (AfDB), the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) Non State Actors and Youth Networks.

Technical Infrastructure: 15 in-house incubation experts, over 50 associate consultants on agribusiness incubation, 1600 mentors with hands-on experience in Agribusiness incubation as well as over 100 on call field-based experts who are part of the AAIN African Agribusiness Incubation Agenda and based in the existing anchor incubators.

Experience in Agribusiness Incubation: AAIN has supported the Government of Ghana to design and Pilot the REP Enable Ghana. The program is establishing incubator in all the 10 regions to support agriprenuers. Through FAO, supported the Design and Development, and Introduction of Agribusiness Incubators within the Integrated Agro-Industrial Parks (IAIP) pilot initiative to promote youth employment and wealth creation in Ethiopia. Has supported the establishment of a Network focused on Youth and Women (Livestock and Fisheries) and development of Youth Engagement Strategy in the Sector and introduced youth to Business Incubation Management (BIM) in Animal Resources Sector working with AU IBAR.

AAIN has profiled over 2800 private companies and SMEs that constitute an invaluable knowledge base on trends and needs in agriculture. Through its partnership with the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM). AAIN can draw on 110 African universities. The CEO and support staff has international experience on incubation and innovations management. The CEO seats on global advisory board that accredits incubators. The business incubation systems director seats in the committee for the World Incubation Summit for the 2019 Doha meeting.  AAIN’s capacity to support agribusiness incubators is enhanced by links with 6 Africa-wide youth networks, 16 national, regional and continental farmers’ organizations. AAIN has over 35 signed MoUs with partners and sector specific professional institutions including Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (ASARECA), CORAF, AfDB, Trust Africa, CFTC, CARDESA, UBI-Global, IITA and with the African Technology Policy Studies network (ATPS) for example (See attached summary). This brings together a wealth of experience
and knowledge for technology, capacity, technical, policy and institutional capacities linked to the incubation ecosystem.
